Photographer and Funnyman: Rick Patton

"there is so much to see, when we really look. Colors, shapes, people, arrangements, textures, and perspectives present themselves in unique often pleasing visual combinations sometimes for only a moment. Take that time ...entertain yourself and enjoy photography. "

The first 12 years of his life were spent in Florida and Puerto Rico. The Island gave Rick an opportunity to not only learn Spanish, but to understand people that were from a slightly different culture than his.

His destiny was shaped even more when the President of the Jr. College Rick was attending, called him into his office. More confused than scared, he stood there as he was handed an application to Ringling Bros. and Barnum Bailey Clown College.

While finishing up his studies at the University of Georgia Graphic Design School, Rick’s “comedy” was singled out.

Following a Comedy Competition inspiration came from a full page stage photo and newspaper article with the heading “From two dozen hopefuls-some pearls emerge."
After school, at that time Boston seemed to be the fertile “Open Mic” ground Rick needed to grow as an entertainer. When he walked into an agency for the first time in Boston, his destiny was revealed; while waiting to talk to his first Talent Agent, he was cast for a National Toyota Commercial!
Returning to the south Rick began touring the country entertaining audiences in clubs, colleges, and casinos,
at concerts, corporate shows, conventions, and charities.

After about 6 years Rick had entertained in 227 cities in 43 states.

Five years ago Rick moved to Los Angeles to put all his irons in the fire. These photographs are images he has captured during his stay here in The City of Angels.
